Tip of the week: Use Low Power Mode for iPhone

Why should I do this?

On the move and worried your iPhone will die? Just enable Low Power Mode, a useful feature which extends your phone’s battery life and can be turned on and off as necessary. Low Power Mode reduces the amount of power that your iPhone uses when you have low battery.

How do I do this?

To turn on ‘Low Power Mode’ go to Settings > Battery. From here you can toggle to turn on or off.

While Low Power Mode is enabled, the following features will be reduced or limited:

  • Automatic downloads and background app refresh
  • Email fetch
  • ‘Hey Siri’
  • Auto-Lock (defaults to 30 seconds)

When Low Power Mode is turned on, the battery icon in the status bar on your screen will be yellow. Low Power Mode automatically turns off once your phone is charged to 80% or higher.
