Setting up your Huawei E5577 for first time use

 

Step 1: Insert your SIM Card & Battery

  • Remove the back cover of your Mobile Wi-Fi
  • Insert your SIM into the card holder
  • Insert your microSD into the card holder
  • Insert your battery
  • Replace the back cover. Your Mobile Wi-Fi is now ready to be charged.

To charge your Mobile Wi-Fi for the first time; connect your device to one of the chargers and plug it into a plug socket or the USB port on your computer.

 

Step 3: Turning on the Mobile Wi-Fi

Press and hold down the power key until the screen lights up, indicating that the Mobile Wi-Fi is turned on.

  • Your device should automatically connect to the Three network and turn on the Wi-Fi signal. It usually takes at least a minute to connect to the network. 
  • If data is transmitted, the Mobile Wi-Fi will automatically connect to the Internet. 
  • If data is not transmitted for a period of time, the Mobile Wi-Fi will automatically disconnect from the network connection.

 

Using a Wi-Fi Network

 

Step 1: Turning Wi-Fi extender On or Off

  1. Press the MENU button on the router to display the menu.
  2. Using the MENU button scroll down to select Wi-Fi extender. Press the button again to turn Wi-Fi extender on or off.

Note: Alternatively, you can log in to the Mobile Wi-Fi's web management page to enable or disable Wi-Fi extender. After the Wi-Fi extender function is enabled, up to nine Wi-Fi devices can be connected to the Mobile Wi-Fi.

 

Step 2: Adding a Wi-Fi Hotspot

  • Log in to the web management page.
  • From the settings page, choose Wi-Fi extender.
  • Scan for Wi-Fi hotspots and connect to the desired one.

 

Connecting a PC to Mobile Wi-Fi

  1. Record the SSID and Wi-Fi key. Note: the default SSID and Wi-Fi key are printed on label that can be found on the bottom of the E5577 device.
  2. On your PC, Select Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre > Connect to a network
  3. Select the wireless network connection that matches Mobile Wi-Fi's SSID (found in Step 1) and click Connect.
  4. Wait a moment for the wireless network connection icon to appear in the system tray in the lower right corner of the computer screen. The wireless network connection is then established.

Connecting to a Tablet

  1. Record the SSID and Wi-Fi key. Note: the default SSID and Wi-Fi key are printed on label that can be found on the bottom of the E5577 device.
  2. Touch Settings > WLAN to turn on WLAN. The tablet computer automatically searches for wireless connections and displays a list of access points.
  3. Select the access point  that matches the Mobile Wi-Fi's SSID (as identified in step 1).
  4. If required, enter the correct wireless network encryption key, and tap Join (The lock icon indicates that the encryption key is required to connect to this wireless network.)

Logging into the Web Management Page

  1. After the computer or laptop is connected to the E5577, open up a browser window, and enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address box.
  2. Enter the user name and password to log in to the web management page.
    • Username: admin.
    • Password: admin

How do I reset my settings?

If you forget the user name, password, or SSID you have set, you can restore the Mobile Wi-Fi to its factory settings. To do so, simply press and hold the RESET button on the device until the Mobile Wi-Fi restarts

Your battery is probably out of power. Charge your Mobile Wi-Fi for a while and power it back on.

 

Why did my Mobile Wi-Fi power off all of a sudden?

Your Mobile Wi-Fi may overheat when you use it continuously over a long period of time, and thereby triggering its automated protection system. Wi-Fi will be turned off and your Mobile Wi-Fi will power off if this occurs. Please ensure the device is properly ventilated and cooled before you power it on again.
