Christmas 2020 is sure to be one to remember. Thankfully still be able to see our nearest and dearest on the big day, the entire Christmas period is still looking to be unlike any Christmas we’ve had before though.

Businesses around Ireland have been adapting to this new normal and have some fantastic plans for the coming days and weeks which all the family can enjoy safely. Your 3Community Moderators have been researching the best Christmas experiences available and we’re here today to tell you about our favourites.

Covid Safe Santa Visits

While we won’t be able to meet Santa in the traditional way this year he will be available for virtual chats, drive in visits and even in some of your local shops and shopping centres, in a safe and magical way of course. Be sure to Google your local area to see what’s available.

Drive In Movies

Many companies the length and breath of Ireland are preparing for Christmas Drive In movie events. This is a fantastic idea to get you and yours out of the house and enjoying the festivities while still staying in your own little bubble.  Why not pick up some goodies on the way to enjoy while you become engrossed in your favourite Christmas movie wrapped up in a snuggly blanket? 3Plus has some fantastic food and drink discounts available so be sure to avail of these.

Don’t fancy the drive in experience? No problem, your local cinema is open too and 3Plus have you covered there as well with great deals on tickets.

Christmas Lights

Cities and towns around Ireland have gone all out this year to make sure their Christmas lights are shining bright in the run up to the festive period. While there won’t be any big tree lighting ceremonies why not take a walk around your local town in the evening and take in all the beautiful lights and shop windows on display? There’s magic all around, you just have to look for it.

Family Meals Out

Why not support your local restaurants and take your family out for a bite to eat? Chat and enjoy each other’s company while taking a night off from the kitchen. Bliss.

Christmas parties or drinks with friends like we’ve become accustomed to in years gone by are a no-no this year but that doesn’t mean you can’t get dressed up and head out for the evening.

Visit your local museum or historical attraction

Lots of museums and other attractions around the country are gearing up for the holiday season. From festive light shows to Christmas markets be sure to have a look to see what’s happening around you.

Breakfast with Santa

Why not make breakfast super fun and join Santa and his helpers for some yummy food and Christmas cheer? Some hotels and restaurants have invited the main man to join their diners for breakfast, what a lovely surprise that would be!
