Make Calls or Send Texts & MMS

 

To make a call:

 

  • Access the App Menu.
  • Tap Phone.
  • Tap the keypad symbol.
  • Dial the number and press call.

You can also open the People app and tap a contact to call them. Once you see your contacts details just tap their number to call them.

 

To send a text or MMS:

 

  • Access the App Menu.
  • Tap Messaging.
  • Press +.
  • Type in your contact's name or the phone number of the person you want to text.
  • Write your text and tap the send icon.
  • To send a picture message tap the attachment icon before tapping send to select a picture to attach to the text.

If you have issues sending MMS go to Network Setup and click +. Enter a connection name and scroll to MMS APN.

Add my Email Settings

 

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap email+accounts.
  • Tap add an account.
  • Select yor email provider.
  • Enter your email address and password.
  • Your phone will automatically detect your email settings. 

If you get an error message make sure you have entered your email address and password correctly.

 

If you're still getting an error you can try adding your email manually: 

 

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap email+accounts.
  • Tap add an account.
  • Tap advanced setup.
  • Enter your e-mail address and password.
  • Tap next.
  • Tap Internet e mail.
  • Enter the account name and your own name.
  • Enter the Incoming email server. This is the Incoming Mail Server for your email provider.
  • Change the Account type to POP3.
  • Enter your username and password.
  • Enter the Outgoing mail server. This is the Outgoing Mail Server for your Internet provider.
  • Untick Outgoing server requires authentication.
  • Untick Use the same user name and password for sending email.
  • Tap advanced settings.
  • Untick Require SSL for incoming email and Require SSL for outgoing email.
  • Tap Download new content and select how often you want the phone to check for emails.
  • Tap Download email from and select how many emails the phone should download.
  • Tap sign in.

Add my Internet Settings 

 

If you're having issues accessing the Internet it's good to check that your settings are correct. 

 

These are usually found under:

 

  • Settings
  • Cellular
  • Add APN

Pair a Bluetooth device

 

  • Turn the Bluetooth device on.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Bluetooth.
  • Make sure the Status indicator is set to On.
  • The phone will automatically search for nearby Bluetooth devices. Tap the one you want to connect to.

Connect to a Wifi Hotspot

 

Before you can connect to a WiFi network, you first need to turn WiFi on.

 

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap WiFi.
  • Make sure the Status indicator is set to On.
  • The phone will automatically search for available WiFi networks.
  • Tap the network you want to connect to.
  • You may be asked to enter a password which you can get from the WiFi provider.

If you get an error message make sure you have entered the password correctly.

You should also check that the network is open to public use. 

 

Unlock Phone 

 

Click here to request the unlock code.

 

Once you have received the code you will be able to unlock your phone.

There are different unlocking instructions for Windows 7 and Windows 8 devices. Please use the relevant instruction for your device.

 

You can check your Operating System by going to Settings then About and then More Information.

 

Windows 7 Windows 8
  • Make sure your Three SIM is in the phone.
  • Turn on the phone and enter your PIN if you use one.
  • Enter ##782# and press Call.
  • You will be prompted to enter the unlock code.
  • The phone will say PIN ACCEPTED. 
  • Your phone is now unlocked!
  • Insert a SIM from another network.
  • Turn on the phone and enter the SIM Card PIN if asked.
  • You will be prompted to enter the unlock code.
  • If not, dial ##7820# and press Call.
  • Enter the unlock code.
  • The phone will say PIN ACCEPTED. 
  • Your phone is now unlocked! 
 
If you get a Code Error message when you are trying to enter the unlock code:

 

  • Check that you have entered the code correctly. 
  • Make sure you are following the instructions exactly.
If the code is entered incorrectly three times your phone will lock and you will need to bring it to a Nokia Service Center to have it manually unlocked.
