Hi, I am having exactly the same issue. I am not using my mobile data and I've been charged twice.

Believe me - when u discuss ur problem with 3 they will insist that
definitely can't happen. Unfortunately u'll be charged regularly until ur
credit is gone & when u top-up twill start again! I had numerous lengthy
discussions with 3 people. One of my discussions lasted 1.5hrs one evening.
I was determined I wasn't giving up cause I was just tired of being charged
when data turned off. They were adamant this couldn't happen. I kept
insisting i was telling the truth. What annoyed me most was they were so
adamant this couldn't happen & pretended to never have heard of the
problem. I eventually agreed to let them turn data off & if I require it
the idea is I text to get it turned on. So far I havent done that.

Hi Rose,

 

I spoke with a guy who actually explained what happened to me and it was to do with MMS messages. I sent one yesterday afternoon and got charged despite being on my home WiFi. He told me that even if you are on your own WiFi MMS messages are sent via the Three network so that's why I was charged. I have one person who does not have WhatsApp and I sent them a photograph.

 

At least I will know in the future.

Interesting! Wait & see if that's right. I got alot of different
explanations too!!

@Three Rachel mentioned that as well in her answer, I think. Long messages or MMS
