Why are previous O2 customer being penalised?

I am currently out of my contract from a previous O2 bill pay plan.

 

I was thinking it was eventually time to upgrade my phone and avail of an Unlimited Data Plan.

 

I was totally shocked to be told that I would essentially have to register as a new user.

As a result I get zero reward for being a customer for a few years.

 

I still can't get over how strange this is, no doubt a reason for a percentage of churn on the Three network.

 

I will be moving to another operator.

I just wanted to vent and let Three know, this is completely avoidable.

All you need to do is show some level of respect and appreciation for existing customers.
