Three is delighted to bring the ZTE MC801A 5G HUB to our customers. It’s super handy and practically works straight out of the box! Plus, there is a fantastic 3 months free offer. This offer is available on our 3 Broadband Unlimited 5G Silver and 3 Broadband Unlimited 5G Gold for new and upgrading customers. So, we have put together some steps to help you get the best out of your 5G coverage, as well as some other notable features on the 5G Hub!
Check the coverage in your area: We have a vast network that we are continually improving. However, there are areas where 5G may not be available or where the strongest indoor signal is 3G or 4G. Use our coverage checker to find out what service is available at your home.
How to get the best connection: Here are some tips on how to get the best connection from your ZTE Hub 👇
How to restart or reset: The Hub is connected to the mains, but you can restart without disconnecting it. Just press and hold the WPS button for 10 seconds and the power light on the Hub will switch off. To restart, press and hold the WPS button for 3 seconds or so, and the power light will switch on again. Be aware that resetting a device will restore it to its factory settings, including password and settings changes! The reset button/hole is on the bottom of the Hub under a protective cover. You will need to press the button using a SIM ejector pin and hold it for 3 seconds. The power lights will switch off and it may take a few minutes to start up again and pick up signal.
Accessing the ZTE dashboard: This is one of the differences for broadband users that have upgraded from a Huawei. The Dashboard/Device Management website has a different URL: http://192.168.0.1/index.html#login. You will find your unique dashboard password on the bottom of the Hub. Launch the dashboard from any device connected to the Hub, enter the URL and password, then select 'login'. There are two views of the dashboard via your MOBILE and your PC/LAPTOP. You can toggle to PC view on your mobile, but it’s all down to personal preference 😊
Why do you need access to the dashboard? Because of all the fabulous features, of course! Below are just a few ❤️
What does a solid red light on the Hub mean? SIM cards are so tiny that it might take you a few tries to get it sitting right in the slot. If you don’t get it right the first time, you will get a solid red light. This means that the device isn’t recognising the SIM, and is not connecting to the network. In this case, try inserting the SIM again. Over time, if you continue seeing a solid red light, it could mean that you need a SIM replacement.
