To help protect consumers from scam messages, ComReg has introduced the SMS Sender ID Registry. This is a secure system where businesses must register their Sender IDs before sending bulk SMS messages.
- From 3rd July 2025: Messages from unregistered Sender IDs will be marked as ‘Likely Scam’ on recipients’ phones.
- From 3rd October 2025: Messages from unregistered Sender IDs will be blocked entirely.
What Does This Mean For Our 3Communicate Customers?
Registering your sender ID with ComReg is mandatory. This is the responsibility of each 3Communicate customer.
We have sent several notifications to all customers regarding this requirement. If you have not yet registered your Sender ID, please follow the steps below.
Information Required for Registration
Be aware you'll need the following details to complete your registration:
- Sender ID Name (e.g., your brand or organisation name)
- CRO Number or Trademark number, or Tax Registration number
- Legal Company Name and Country of Registration
- Business Activity Description
- Primary Contact Details (name, phone number, email and Web address )
- Ensure your Sender ID complies with formatting rules:
- (3–11 characters,
- no accents or special characters (€, £, ¥, or Greek letters)
Choose Your ISV and OPA
When registering, select the following:
- ISV/Third Party: Select '3Communicate' from the Independent Software Vendor dropdown
- OPA: Select 'Oxygen8 Communications Limited T/A Engage Hub' from the list of Other Participating Aggregators
How to Register your Sender ID
*Be aware that you do have the option to register a New Sender ID. You don’t have to use your current Sender ID. To see your existing Sender ID, log in to the Engage Hub Portal.
How to Use Your Registered Sender ID
1. Complete Registration
Once registration is complete, ComReg will send confirmation by email within 48hours. At this point, your Sender ID is fully registered.
2. Update Your Sender ID in the Engage Hub
Follow the steps below to ensure that your messages are identified correctly
Log in to the Engage Hub Portal
In the Originator field, enter your registered Sender ID
**IMPORTANT: If the originator field is left blank, messages may appear as “#FreeMsg” and be highlighted as a likely scam to recipients.
3. Edit Your Details
Your Sender ID details can be edited at any time by visiting SMS ID Registry. This enables you to ensure that your information remains current and accurate.
