How to Activate 4G and Wi-Fi Calling
Wi-Fi Calling allows you to make and receive calls anywhere in the Republic of Ireland, wherever there is a Wi-Fi network, even if there is no regular phone signal.
Android
To enable Wi-Fi Calling:
- Navigate to 'Settings' > Select 'Connections' > 'Wi-Fi Calling'.
- Make sure Wi-Fi Calling is set to 'On'.
To switch on 4G Calling:
- Select 'Settings' > 'Connections' > 'Mobile networks' > '4G calling'.
- Make sure Wi-Fi Calling is set to 'On'.
iPhone
To set up 4G calling for iPhone 8 to iPhone 11:
- Go to 'Settings' > 'Mobile Data' - 'Mobile Data Options'
- Select 'Voice and Data' > Turn on 4G
Please note that iPhone 12 onwards has 4G calling switched on by default.
To enable Wi-Fi Calling on iPhone:
- Go to 'Settings' > 'Phone' > 'Wi-Fi Calling'
- Switch on Wi-Fi Calling (Read and Accept the Terms and Conditions).
Please note that you may need to update your phone software to enable 4G or Wi-Fi Calling
