What are app notifications?
Notifications are messages sent from apps installed on your phone. This might include your calendar app notifying you of an upcoming event or your banking app alerting you that your statement is available to view.
Why would I want app notifications switched on?
Keeping your app notifications switched on is not necessary but it does mean that you receive updates without having to open an app and check. Please note that app notifications can be turned on and off at any time, and you can select which apps can or can't send you notifications.
How do I turn on my notifications?
To turn on your notifications, please follow the steps below according to your phone manufacturer.
Android
Navigate to:
- Settings
- Apps
- Manage Apps
- Select the app for which you would like to turn notifications on or off
- Select 'Notifications'
- Tap the 'Show Notifications' toggle button
Note: to switch the notification off, tap the ‘Show Notifications’ toggle button again.
iPhone
Navigate to:
- Settings
- Notifications
- Select the app for which you would like to turn notifications on or off
- Tap the ‘Allow Notifications’ toggle button
