@Add_06322 Let's take a look at this. Firstly, have you taken a look at our All about: Broadband Coverage blog? There are some great tips and tricks in there, try them out and let me know how you get on. You'll also find a list of questions in there that I'll need the answers to in order to move forward with the investigation 👍
Hi There, Many thanks for your interest.
I went through the steps regarding broadband signal, no issue with Wifi as I'm hard wired into the router using a Cat 6 cable, have an external aerial on the router too showing the highest level of green in the B525 app. I tried to adjust and get a better signal but the set up that I had shows the strongest signal from here. Interestingly at 8.41 am yesterday morning after going through the steps, reset etc., I got a download speed of 35.2 megs and upload of 35.3 so thought all ok, by 10.31 pm, back to the previous state, download speed of 2.58 megs and upload of 22.9. Is this congestion or something else do you think? Was fine before though but that said lots of new builds between me and the mast at Hazelhatch now..
@Add_06322 I've checked your area and the masts seem to be in working order. Now in saying that, we've seen an increase in traffic on our network over the last while with so many of our customers now relying on calls and data for work, and to stay in contact with the outside world. Our network crew is closely monitoring the trends that are now the new norm and are introducing measures that will allow us to continue to provide a strong network experience for our customers.
You also mention new builds. Again this is something that can indeed have an impact on your speeds. Tell me, how long have you had your router and SIM card? I'm wondering if they would be due an update.
@Add_06322 In that case ordering a SIM replacement would do no harm Paul. They're free of charge and very easy to order and activate. Take a look at All about: SIM Replacements for the step by step 👍
Is there any 5G in your area, it might be worth trying that as it shouldnt have the congestion that you face on the 4G network
