cancel broadband contract

Can i please cancel my broadband Moderator edit: Personal details removed

@claref Thanks for getting back to me Clare. As the contract was set up in-store it's not possible to cancel at this time without paying a penalty, the 14 day returns window only applies to online or phone orders.

i was told on phone by a collegue of you on phone that i couldnt do it on
line as the reason why i changed my upgrade because my modem kept cutting
out and he did a serious of tests on it, he siad it would need to be looked
at in store. as it may be the battery or something? or maybe because it was
due an upgrade 6 months ago. When I went to store he told me thaey couldnt
give me a replacement, that due to covid they didnt have batteries or
ability to test modems in store, that it would have to be sent off ciuld
take 3 weeks to come back again due to covid. I had no choice to get a
modem there and then as i am a student and at the time the three modem was
all i had for internet, i didnt know that i was getting a gift of a phone,


If The store had been willing to give me a replacement over the counter or
given me a replacement battery or I had been told on phone by your collegue
that I could have got it done over the phone, I couldnt do it online at
time as my internet wouldnt connect for long enough without loosing signal
I simply could not go three weeks without connection to internet.

@claref I understand, I'm guessing when you were speaking to Customer Care you were advised to go to the store to have your current modem checked, and then when in the store you upgraded instead of sending the modem for repair. Pop me a PM with your broadband number, full name, address and date of birth so I can check your cancellation fee if you decide to go ahead and cancel.
