1 Euro charge for online Top Up

I just did a 20 Euro Top Up and was charged 1 Euro, the transacaction for the top up didn't go through so I tried again. I got the same 1 Euro charge and the top up did go through so in total I've been charged 22 Euro for a 20 Euro Top Up.

Is this normal? this has never happened to me before.

Hi @imJamie this is a security measure to validate your credit/debit card. The €1 automatically drops back into your account in 3-5 working days depending on your bank.

I topped up 20 euros and was charged 1 euro more. Why is Three charging more than the top-up amount? This is not correct. Is it really safe to top up online? I will report it!
