What is Webtext?

Webtext is a free service that lets you send 500 free texts from Three.ie every month. 

• Your Webtext allowance will renew each month. You can view the exact date on your Webtext dashboard. 
• Webtext can be sent to both Irish and international mobile numbers. Please note that there is a limit of 25 international messages per month. 
• However, some networks, including American networks, charge customers to receive texts. Free Webtext will not deliver to these networks.
• Webtext cannot be sent to premium rate numbers or shortcodes. 
• Replies to webtexts will be sent directly to your phone.
• Webtext service is only available to be used in Ireland or the UK.

Registering

Registering for Webtext is easy. Just make sure that you have signed up to My3 by clicking here, and you’re good to go! (Remember that Webtext is only available through our website and not the My3 app.)

Accessing Webtext

Log into your My3 account by clicking  here

Log in to your My3 account by clicking here. Once you've logged in scroll down to the bottom of the screen till you see 'Send a Webtext' under My3.

Please note that Webtext is not accessible with a foreign IP address.

Using your Webtexts

Once you select 'Webtext', you will see a new dashboard. Take a look at the image below for what to expect! Here, you can either send a Webtext instantly or schedule one for later.

Once you have sent your message, a bar will appear at the top of the page to let you know that it has been sent successfully. Replies will be sent to your phone. 

Adding Contacts

1. Click Contacts.
2.  Click Add New Contact.
3. Enter the name and phone number in the spaces provided.
4. Click Save Contact.

How to send a Webtext

• Log in to your My3 and click Send a Webtext.
• Type in your message in the Send Message box. 
• In the To field, select the number that you want to text from your Contacts list, or you can enter the phone number manually.
• Click Send Webtext now to send the Webtext immediately.
• A confirmation will show when your message has been sent. 

How to schedule a Webtext (within the next 7 days)

• Log in to your My3 and click Send a Webtext.
• Type in your message in the Send Message box. 
• In the To field, select the number that you want to text from your Contacts list or you can enter the phone number manually.
• Click Schedule Webtext
• Specify the date and time (within the next 7 days) when you would like the Webtext to be sent. 
• Click Schedule Now. The Webtext will be sent on date and time specified.

Webtext Groups

To create a group:

• Select Contacts
• Click Groups
• Click Add New Group
• Enter Group name
• Search for the contacts that you would like to add and select the relevant contacts using the checkboxes to the right. Note: the max number of contacts that you can add to a group is 100.
• Click Save Group.

If you want to remove a contact from a group:

• Go to Contacts
• Select the contact you wish to remove
• Click the X
• Click Delete

Helpful information:

• Webtext service is only available in Ireland and the UK.
• You will find Webtext via My3 desktop site, not the app.
• Sent Webtexts are not saved. For groups, it is always handy to include your own number. This way, you will have a copy of the Webtext that you have sent.
