After reviewing the Tronsmart Apollo Bold TrueWireless Active Noise Cancelling earphones last year, I was looking forward to trying out their new Apollo Air+ with Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Earphones.

The earphones come with a charging/carrying case which has leds on it to display battery level i.e. the outside case will flash 3 times with a blue led the battery level is between 11 and 100% and will flash red 3 times if the battery level is under 11%, a constant red while charging and will turn off when its charged. Again there is a full breakdown of the Led sequences in the included User Guide, the  instructions and information in the user guide is very starightford and easy to  understand. The case cover opens and closes solidly with the aid of a magnet to keep it closed. Once you open the case the earphones are automatically turned on.

The charging case itself is very light (only 34grms)

The earphones weigh approx 4.5 grms each.

The Tronsmart Apollo Air+ earphones use the Qualcomm QCC3046 chip, which gives you very good battery performance and lowest latency with faster transmission between the earphones and your audio source.

The latest Qualcomm aptx Audio Codec is supported “aptX Adaptive Audio”  which will give you the best audio over bluetooth by using an Adaptive bit rate with Dynamic low latency (Which is great for gaming) which gives you HQ audio.

The Apollo Air+ uses TWS Stereo Plus  which means your audio source will stream directly to each earphone independently and it also allows you to use one by itself and you can still chose to have Ambient mode enabled.

As with any earbuds they are compact and have charging ports on them, the Apollo Air+ have a nice glossy plastic finish to them and feel well constructed and they are rated IP45 which means you can use them outside even while it's raining.

Again Tronstmart have their Active Noise Cancelling and the Ambient Sound mode.

The ANC makes music deeper and adds more Bass while removing a lot of the background noise (Block out up to 35 dB of noises)

The Ambient sound mode I found great as it injects the background surrounding noise into the audio your listening to so you get to hear sounds around you and also the audio so you can feel safer when your using earphones when your outside and also its great when your on work phone/video calls as you can hear the kids around you if your working from home.

Overall I found the earphones very comfortable either while running they felt firmly attached to my ears or wearing them for long periods of time.

Pairing was very easy, and you can see the Battery % of the earphones in your bluetooth settings as well as the HD audio mode that your connected to.

The earphones have some nice features like when you remove one the audio will pause and if you re-insert it the music

I would definitely recommend installing the companion Tronsmart app from your App Store, as this will give you flexibility to configure the earphones in the best way to suit you, you can find the QR code on the rear of the packaging.

In the Tronstmart app select Apollo Air/Air+ and once selected you are presented with the home screen, where you can easily select the audio mode that you want. Ambient, ANC Off or ANC on. You can also view each earphones battery level.

If you press the … in the top right you will get options to view the user manual and also see if there is an update available for the earphones.

If you select the middle Option from the home screen you're presented with the equaliser settings, I found the default one handles most audio very well, but it would be nice to have a few more equalisers to choose from.

The 10mm graphene drivers in the Apollo Air+ produced very good sound with various music types i tried and produced good bass and with ANC on adds even more Bass with even more of a punch.

And finally if you select the third icon at the bottom of the screen, you have options to configure how the touch controls work for you. There are plenty of ways to control the Apollo Air+ a lot more than other earphones which may only have one or two taps to control them. I found the Touch controls responsive, but for the voice assistant my phone needed to be unlocked for it to open.

The range of the earphones (15 Metres from the specs) is very impressive. I was able to listen to music all over my two storey house and even outside.

Tronsmart say play time is up to 5 hours (with Volume at 50%) with the changing case you could get 20 hours of listening. USB-C fast charge is supported with the earphones in the carry case or via wireless charging.

There are six microphones altogether along with CVC 8.0 technology inside the earphones in each earphone there is (a feedback,  a feedforward and a voice microphone) .The voice quality in normal (not too noisy environments) was very good, but it did struggle a bit when the conditions had more background more noise like in a shopping centre.

Overall Great value for money with plenty of premium features.

Tronsmart have produced another great set of earphones for the consumer with standout features of Ambient Sound Mode  and ANC and  so you can use the Tronsmart Apollo Air+ in any location
