Hi,
I have pretty poor reception at home and thus pretty much need WiFi calling. The signal is 1 bar at best and SMS-es usually arrive 30 mins late, calls do not come in.
I have a Galaxy S10+, and seeing the support page, a lot of Samsung devices seem to be supported, so I wouldn't see a reason why mine wouldn't be. I do see an option to enable WiFi calling in my settings, but it does not seem to work. There is no WiFi calling icon, and calls still work very poorly.
What I should probably mention is that I live on-campus at a university, and the network is pretty restricted. Most carriers offer WiFi calling through IPsec - which is unblocked here (50, 51, UDP/500 and TCP/1723). Can someone technical tell me what ports exactly are used for Three's WiFi calling?
I've noticed that my other carrier's SIM's WiFi calling does work - so the issue is definitely on Three's side. What I definitely do notice, is that SIM2 (Non-3) has a "more info about WiFi calling" button under the toggle and I have a "<Carrier> Services" app when the SIM is in. With 3, I don't get either.
Any pointers besides that to getting this thing to work? Or other methods to receive calls on my 1 bar...
Cheers.
@Rafalk thank you for that information. The service is available, but a SMS is usually received to advise customers that it has been activated on their account. Please PM us, your name, number, full address and date of birth so that we can review your account and look into this further for you.
Hi @Rafalk 👋 thanks for reaching out to us here on 3Community. I'd be happy to look into this for you, just need to confirm have you received an sms confirming that the 4G and WiFi calling service has been activated on your account?
I have bought a SIM about 2 weeks ago, no such SMS has been received. It was advertised to me at the 3 Store that WiFi calling is available.
