Hi I have Purchased a iPhone 13 from the CEX Store and its locked to the Three which i am customer. Now this a second hand phone purchased from the CEX. I have contacted the customer care, they said they cannot unlock it as the request should come from the Original owner, Now CEX Store will not give me name who sold this device to them and Three will not unlock this. I currently own this Device now, is there any way it can be locked officially from three. I am Prepaid customer of three. My account is topped up with more than 100 euros?
Thanks
Hey @Varun_90409 , Welcome to the 3Community 🙂
Unfortunately, if you are not the original owner of the phone, you won't be able to request an unlocking code. While you would be the current owner of the device after purchasing it from a third party, you wouldn't meet the requirements to receive the unlocking code as we are only able to provide an unlocking request to the person who originally purchased the phone as the phone would be attached to their account.
Hi Niall. I am having this same issue and I don't see how this can be possible. I have owned the phone for over 2 years, bought from CEX. Now I want to move to Germany and use a German SIM and I cannot unlock the phone. This renders the phone completely useless to me. I have the invoice from CEX and have been a Three customer for years. I find this inflexibility really unfair and disappointing. Is there no option for me to use my phone in another network?
Hey @Add_92549 thanks for posting here, I can understand your situation however as per our terms and conditions for unlocking we can only unlock a phone that you have you've bought from Three regardless if you have a proof of purchase from a third party.
