Using 3 in Switzerland

I'm on a '3 GOV Staff 10GB Talk 24 M' plan. Can I use my phone for calls and texts in Switzerland without incurring extra charges? And what about data usage?

Hey @Michael1963 , thanks for posting here, I would recommend entering your mobile number and destination into our Roaming Rates which will advise you on the rates and allowances based specifically on your account.

Hi Niall, 

Thanks for this advice. Very helpful. If you take a lot at the screenshot below, it says that I have free calls and texts while in Switzerland, so no problem there. But it also says that I have an EU Data Allowance of 10GB. Does this mean that my data usage will be free once I don't go over 10GB on this month's data usage limit? Or does it mean that I have to pay extra as Switzerland isn't in the EU?

Hey @Michael1963 I can understand the confusion but this means that you can use your 10GB EU Data Roaming Allowance while in Switzerland even though its not in the EU, similar to how you could use your Data Roaming Allowance in the UK even though its not in the EU.

If your allowances are not included in the country you are going to then you will only see the Data per MB rate however I would recommend you be careful as if you go over the 10GB you will be charged at 0.11C per MB.
