Why am I being charged to listen to voice mail.

Just got my bill and am astonished to say the least. In all my years with O2 and then Vodafone I was never charged to listen to my voice mail, moved to 3 last my, got my first bill and I’m charged for listening to voice mail. Rang company and was told that it’s not included in my unlimited package!
