how can I stop my number recycling?

I'm currently living outside Ireland and wasn't topping up. I forgot to make the top up a few days ago to avoid get my number recycled..am I still able to avoid the recycling?

I just got my lina cancelled, but I found that it takes some time to start the recycling process.
