Three roaming issues in Hungary

Currently in Hungary using Iphone XR on prepay plan with credit and have a problem with no roaming service for calls and data, will not connect to any network here. No problem roaming in UK or France recently, tried a friends sim card in my handset here in Hungary and my phone works fine with their sim, so it really looks like a Three network problem, tried various APN settings etc. Last resort contacted Three.ie and they mentioned the usual simple things like turn off and on airplane mode, eventually they said they cannot help 😡 😡😡, what a service!!!! my friends will be leaving me shortly and I will be without a service, uncontactable ( no phone), and Three don't want to know about it.... pathetic service.....

@Add_02622 Hello, thanks for posting. I'm wondering if you've noticed any changes since you posted? I'd love to help you out here and this may be something I need to log with our tech team. I'm guessing you're using the same phone and SIM you used in the UK and France? You mention calls and data not working, are text messages the same? And incoming calls and texts? Let me know which networks you've tried connecting to also.

I'm having the exact same issues, but on a pixel 6. Tried restarting phone, turning airplane mode on, making sure roaming is enabled, manually tried registering to a network and nothing seems to help. Have yet to reach customer service, but that is my next step.

So thankfully customer service managed to solve the issue for me very quickly, it was a setting on their side it seems. 👍

So unfortunately it happened again in Austria on Monday.

The customer support person this time was adamant that I need to do his troubleshooting steps again, even though I told him I've tried and they don't work. Then he told me to reset my wifi, network and bluetooth settings completely.

Also didn't work but now all my saved wifi settings, passwords and bluetooth devices are lost. Would not recommend for anyone.

Turns out the only solution is to reset the sim from Three's side. 

@Add_08954 Thanks for letting us know that and also what worked for you! Has anybody suggested a SIM replacement to you yet? If not, it might be a good idea to order a free one over here. All about: SIM Replacements  will give you a step by step guide on how to activate it when it arrives 👌
