Having reviewed the SoundPeats Watch1 I was interested to see what improvements have been made to the SoundPeats Watch3.
The Soundpeats Watch3 comes in a compact box where inside you get the watch, a magnetic charging cable (approx 61cm long) and an instruction book.
(The Watch1 and Watch3 cables are not interchangeable so the Watch1 cable will NOT charge the Watch3)
Setup was easy with the QR code, i installed the SoundPeats Sports App ( Play Store Link SOUNDPEATS SPORTS on the App Store)
Once you download the app and power up the watch you just need to create a Soundpeats account and pair the watch via bluetooth with your phone, the watch supports Bluetooth version 5.2.
The Soundpeats Sports app is very nicely presented and on its Home Screen you can see current weather, Target Step Count, Distance covered today ,history of your heart rate, Blood O2 and your sleep record.
I did find that the step count is a bit high compared to what I had actually done.
You can click each of the above sections to get more of a breakdown of your stats.
The next screen is the Sports screen, where you can select the type of exercise that you will be doing. 70 modes are supported ( jogging/ fast walking/ biking/ climbing/ spinning/ yoga/ indoor running/ integrated training/ gymnastics/ basketball/ football/ rowing etc ) and also the Motion Setting. It will use your smartphone's GPS
Next is the Device Screen where you can configure how the watch behaves,
On the Watch1 you couldn't change the predefined watchface, but on the Watch3 you can.
You can configure if the screen turns on when you raise your hand .
And also check for Firmware updates.
Notifications can be configured for the call reminder when a call comes up on the watch screen you only have the option to see who's calling you and reject the call.
Example of SMS Notification, the Font could be improved.
Also you cannot interact with the notifications i.e. you cant reply to the SMS.
There is no option for how long the screen remains on, you need to do this from the settings menu on the watch itself ( 5,10,15s)
You can select notifications for some apps in the main App Reminder Screen, but to add more apps you will have to go into the next menu and select them, it's a pity the list is not in alphabetical order as it would be quicker to find apps.
I also had to install “Notify for Smartwatches“ as I wasn't seen all the apps on my Android 13 smartphone,
Option to give you reminders to exercise/move during the day.
In the Final Menu Screen you can configure your login information and how the app works with your phone and define your target step count.
The watch feels very well constructed with the metal bezel and metal button the strap itself is a nice matte plastic , the screen is a nice 1.85 inch size with a resolution of 240*280 .The metal Button feels solid.
I usually don't like wearing watches when I'm sleeping as they are too bulky but I didn't find the Soundpeats Watch3 bulky or uncomfortable while sleeping.
Overall dimensions are 43mm*35*8mm and it only weighs 36g.
The straps are easily removable so you can get different ones and you could change them yourself.
Adjustable wristband: 20mm wide and is approx 260mm long.
On the rear of the watch is the heart rate sensor and the magnetic charging port.
I had no problems charging the watch, it takes approx 2 hours to fully charge its 220mAH battery, my usage is about 4-5% daily so I get about 2 weeks between charges.
I did need to increase the screen brightness to be more readable outside.
It's rated IP68, so I tried it out by wearing it in the shower and and in a swimming pool I had to did disable the setting “Raise hand to activate display” to stop the screen turning on in the water otherwise moving your hand would turn on the screen and the water would have an effect similar to you swiping the screen.
The Button unlocks or when the screen is on you can swipe, overall the watch was very responsive.
Swiping up gives you your latest notifications.
Swiping right gives you a quick overview of your Steps , Cals and distance covered today.
Swiping down gives you shortcuts for Do not disturb, Brightness level adjust ( 25,50 ,75,100) , Find my phone and Settings Menu ,( Where you can set the watch face, screen time, brightness, Power off, and QR link to SoundPeats Sports App)
Swiping Left gives you Menus , Training, Status , HR, Sp02, Sleep, Weather, Music, Message, Alarm , Breathing exercises [More → Stopwatch, Time, Flashlight, FindMe.] Settings
In Music Setting, you can control the music of your phone and volume but track names/info is not displayed on the watch.
In More there is a Stopwatch, Timer ,Flashlight ( watch screen turns on for flashlight) Find Phone.
Swipe left brings you back to previous menu, or does pressing the Button
SoundPEATS have improved on their Watch1 with the Watch3 with plenty of features so if you want a SmartWatch and dont to pay a fortune for it the Soundpeats Watch 3 would be my recommendation.

@billbond4 thanks for the review 😊
I had a smartwatch a couple of years ago but gave up on it because I always forgot to charge it, but the battery life on this one is making me think it may be time for a new one.
Yes, if you want a device to tell the time and give you notifications, that you dont need to charge every few days its very good.
I brought the Watch1 on my two week trip to America and didnt have to worry about charging it.
