Having reviewed the Soundpeats Watch one earlier this year I wanted to try out their Q30 HD earphones.
Unboxing Video of the Soundpeats Q30 HD
You get plenty of accessories included in the box.
If you use bluetooth earphones or exercise the form factor of having cable free bluetooth connection with the inline remote can be better as the inline remote is easier to operate than touching the earphones themselves.
Being able to wear the earphones around your neck instead of carrying them around in a case makes them more of a convenient option, the magnets keep the earphones solidly closed together.
Pairing is very easy and as always its great to be able to see the earphones battery %
As you can see the Soundpeats Q30HD supports Qualcomm’s aptx HD audio (via the QCC3034 chip) aptX HD is designed to deliver 24-bit wireless HD audio wirelessly over Bluetooth so it will give you better audio quality from your device to the earphones.
The Q30 HD uses bluetooth version 5.0 which gives longer battery life.
The earphones are rated for sweatproof (IPX6 Rating) so the charging port should be closed after use.
The front of the inline remote has a matte silicone finish and the buttons are nice and big and provide good feedback when pressed there is a status led next to the microphone.
The usual controls apply a long press of the Multi Function(Play) button for 3 seconds will turn on/off the earphones, + is volume + and long press of + will Play the next track, - does the opposite, a short press of the Multi Function button will Play/Pause the audio or answer a call.
If your phone is unlocked a double press on the Multi Function button will open your voice assistant.
As there is no Soundpeats app the configuration of the buttons cant be changed.
Playing time is 13 hours (by volume at 50%) and charging time is approx 1.5 hours with standby time 100 hours.
Audio quality with the 10mm drivers is very good and when you have the earphones pushed into your ears the ear fins provide good sound isolation, although there isnt a lot bass on the earphones.
The earphones weigh only 16g so they are very light and can be stored in the carry case for extra protection when not in use.
The carry case measures approx 10cm x 6.5cm x 3.8 cm, the netting in the interior of one side of the carry case is useful as you can store the charging cable in there and it wont get tangled up with the earphones..
From one earbud to the other is approx 60cm.
Microphone quality is average due to the fact that there is only one microphone in the inline remote so its fine when you're in a quiet environment but it's not great when you're in a noisey location like next to a road.
I found the earphones very comfortable and there are plenty of options to suit peoples ear shapes. I used them over the week for Microsoft Teams meetings and for a 5 Kilometer run and they felt nice and snug in my ears and i didnt think they would fall out like other earpods
