Hi, I've switched to a new device (Samsung one plus Nord) and am unable to send regular text messages/calls. I transferred my old sim into this phone and I can recieve messages/calls from people just fine but am unable to send them as 'error 38' keeps popping up. I can call/message fine on WhatsApp got example but in the default messaging system I cannot. Please help
Sounds like your smsc is not configured correctly.
Go into the phone dialler and input
*#*#4636#*#*
You may have to press call.
In the next menu. Click phone information and goto the botton
Hit refresh on the smsc and post back here with the number you have
test
Hi Lida_10165 welcome to 3 Community 👋 Is there anything I can help you with?
Having this issue also
@Angelblue Hi there, have you tried the above suggestion from billbond4? Can you try entering the code & let me know if it works for you? If it doesn't can I get the make & model of your phone? When did you start seeing the error code? Have you recently gotten a new phone?
Is it for all numbers you see this message ?
What do you see in Messages (Press the ... on the top right) --> Settings --> Advanced --> SMSC
and
Messages (Press the ... on the top right) --> Settings --> Chat features
Hi @Angelblue 👋 From your posts I see that you are using a Huawei P30 lite, and you're not able to make standard calls/texts but you are able to use WhatsApp. Is this correct? Are you using wifi for this or mobile data? Please let me know how many signal bars you have and if you are connecting to 5G or 4G?
