When it comes to hot-spotting and tethering, these are device features so unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to guarantee how these will work when connected to other services or also we wouldn't be able to recommend if using a VPN could help the query.
Hey @SCrowley thanks for messaging here, unfortunately as the hotspot is a device feature I wouldn't be able to guarantee that the Playstation Portal is going to work with this. If this is a NAT Type issue you can try setting the Hotspot APN to open.internet however I cannot guarantee this will resolve this for you.

Hi, I’m using mobile hotspot on my I phone 13 to may PlayStation 5, but it’s causing my Nat type to be type 3. I need it to be type 2 as type 3 has many restrictions. Just wondering if there’s any solution
Hey @Luke_76406 thanks for posting here, unfortunately as hot spotting is a device feature we wouldn't be able to support the NAT Type request while hot spotting.
