Does anyone know what we are to do if our phone number has been spoofed, I keep getting calls saying they missed a call from me, so I assume it is being used by scammer.
This definitely sounds like your number has been spoofed. Unfortunately, there is not a lot that you can do, as the calls originate from international locations but I do know that some other users have reported this to their local Gardai.
To what end do they report it to the Guards? I would have assumed that, as my service provider, you would have had a way to circumvent this, as other service providers do.
@Irishdadbod I understand that this is an extremely unfortunate situation and I apologise for any inconvenience that this incident has caused you but as I explained above, there is nothing we can do to prevent spoofing from an outside source. I would be happy to help you change your phone number or temporarily suspend your account. I realise that these are not ideal solutions to your problem but they are the only solutions that I am in a position to provide you with.
