Hi
I have a Samsung Galaxy A71, and have enabled wifi calling in its settings, however I still cannot make or receive calls when I have no phone signal but do have wifi coverage.
I've seen from other posts I would have received an SMS if enabled on my account but have not received any.
Can you help?
Thanks,
David
@David_OL Hi David & welcome to the 3Community. I'll need to check on your account to see if the WiFi calling add-on has been added. Can I get you to PM me your number along with your full name, address, & date of birth for the validation of your account?
As you're new to the Community you'll need to increase your rank to send PMs. You can increase your rank by commenting on posts, creating new posts, & kudos/liking comments. Once you rank up you'll get a message to notify you & you'll need to log out & back into the Community & you'll be able to PM us directly.
@David_OL Thanks for the PM 👍 I've checked on your account & it's not currently set up to avail of WiFi calling. Our back office team are working to get every customer up & running. As you mentioned in your first post a text message will be sent to you once the WiFi calling is enabled.
Thanks Shane; do you have any idea when that can be expected? Hours or months? It was the primary reason I returned to Three...
One additional question - I seem to be having problems with voicemail. When I dial 171, I hear "Please enter your phone number, including your prefix, then press the hash key" (and if I do that, I'm told "That number is not listed").
@David_OL I don't have an expected timeframe for when it'll be added our team are working to get all accounts updated as soon as possible. Apologies I can't give an exact timeframe.
The voicemail is an odd one but let's check it out. Has this ever happened before? Can you try the following? Dial ##002# to disable your voicemail and then set it back up again with ##21#. Once you've got that done try calling your voicemail again. Let me know how you get on.
That's unfortunate re the wifi calling.
Re the voicemail - still no luck after trying those codes. I was with Three for years (2006-2022) without any problems; ported away and just returned; voicemail has not worked since I rejoined this month.
@David_OL can I get you to do the following steps: Open the Phone app on your phone to begin. Tap the three-dots menu icon in the top-right. From the drop-down menu, tap the Settings option. In your Call Settings menu, click the Voicemail option. From here can you check that Service provider is set as My Carrier & that Voicemail number is set as 171?
If the above settings are correct have you a third-party voicemail app installed on your phone?
Hi Shane
Yes, "Service Provider" is "My Carrier" (there's no other option) and the voicemail number is set to 171.
I do not have (and never have had) any other / third-party voicemail app.
