Hi @Three_Niall I have contacted them, and it shows that there is no problem with their service.
Actually in this conversation here, I'd like withdraw what I said before on "I have received OTPs from other services. " -- now I am not so sure anymore. Why? Because lately this is the only OTP I have left, I think. Others they moved to other authentication methods.
And, I have just learned that there is RCS, and there is SMS.
My number, could send and receive RCS.
It could also send SMS. But could not received SMS.
Does this make sense to you? (why can I receive RCS, but cannot receive SMS?)
Hey @Add_54950 have you tried asking someone to send you an SMS message, a standard text message not related to an OTP, to check if you are able to receive SMS ?
(1) That is correct. I asked another family to send me an (normal 'hello' text) SMS: I did not receive it.
But if they sent it as RCS (apparently, Rich Communication Services) I can receive it.
But if they send it as an SMS, I did not receive it.
(2) In addition to this RCS/SMS problem, I also want to ask you another question (just in case there is another culprit), are there a list of numbers that are blocked by Three for my number? That is, whatever messages these numbers sent, Three would not deliver it to me. Is there such a list (just in case some are wrongly blocked)?
Thanks @Add_54950 firstly I would recommend checking to see if you are able to send SMS yourself or is the issue only receiving SMS.
I would also recommend trying your SIM in another phone if this is possible but I understand it's not always possible.
After this I would recommend going to the Device Support, Selecting your device, and Following the Steps to manually select the network to test if this works for you.
We wouldn't be able to block numbers for you and this is somethin you need to do on your device however as both OTP and SMS are not being received for you this sounds like you may need to reconnect with the network and troubleshoot this on the device.
