Smartwatch Mobile Connection Support

Hi, with the recent launch of eSim, it would be great to have Apple/Android smartwatch mobile connection support.

@pelowj exact same as your phone? Wow. 🤯 like you get to see WhatsApp images and videos on your watch? Tell me, does your watch have no problems getting battery drained when it tries to shift signals between WiFi and cellular? You aren’t annoyed when music cuts off because it tries to get the cellular signal when you leave your phone? No instances of you where you need cellular connectivity only to find out you’re in a dead spot? Have you tried talking to a customer service agent who has no idea of what you’re dealing with?

You haven’t missed any messages or messages are delayed? A provider that has sorted all of those out is a provider worth switching for. Apple Watch cellular is a liberating experience! Have you done a triathlon without your phone? It is amazing! Oh dear God wait til you get your hands on ultra 2 and send messages with your watch via satellite when you’re on a plane (you can only wish)
And three is edging you by not providing concrete answers or details with a potentially life changing technology. Uhm, did I tell you we live in the republic of Ireland? 😂

@Annette_16996 are you in a relationship? If so, how do you get your man or woman to do what you ask them to?

It is best to ignore me really, disengage and ignore my existence; that is the best way to kill an idea. 😂 after all, I don’t have the knowledge, nor the power to potentially shift your experience. 😊

Hi everyone, as 3Community is a customer platform designed to allow you to share your honest experiences and thoughts on Three and its services, I understand that we can sometimes get into spirited debates here. However:

@Vernon_64092  I would kindly ask that you review our 3Community guidelines when posting.

@Add_10610, @Annette_16996 & @pelowj, I understand your frustration, and at this time all I can say is that we are preparing to launch the service. As soon as we are in a position to confirm a launch date, I will let you know.

@Three_Stacey I see that Three.ie bill pay accounts has a new option to add Smartwatch Share for €4.99/mo but there are no details, it allowed me to add it to my monthly bill as an extra when and I signed up for it and I was able to add it to my account, but I was unable to activate it on my watch, am I missing something? It doesn’t say that it’s not compatible with Apple Watch so I assume it is, but when I go to add it on my Apple Watch it takes me to Vodafone.

@Guest_07683

Where did you see the option to do this?

My3 app, explore add ons, others (all the way over to the right), smartwatch share

I added it. It said to wait for email. There is still no option in the Apple Watch to add eSIM. Probably still needs an operator update.

Exciting. Hopefully it is what we think it is!

Cheers @Guest_07683  found it.  Although they want €6.14 a month for the “3Business Smartwatch Share”. This must be imminent so.

@Guest_07683, @Dalk & @pelowj Thanks very much for alerting me to this add-on option. As you know, we are currently in the testing phase for eSIM wearables. Please do not attempt to add this add-on. If you have added this add-on and were subsequently charged for the service, please PM me and I will resolve this for you. I apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your continued patience on this.
