5G internet - calls dropping on phone system

 

 

Hi Everyone, is anyone else having issues with working from home using a phone software called 8x8 ( through a desktop or laptop) to make calls and receive calls. 

 

My wifi is unable to handle this software and I have tried lots of options to improve it but still it ( the app )  cannot function properly on this one 5G Broadband, everything else works fine on the internet but its just the app. 

 

The 8x8 team say get in touch with 3 to help get the latency improved to help me take the inbound calls. 

 

Anyone else having similar issues?

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties, it's strange that you're only having difficulties with 8x8 this is not something I've heard before. If the issue were with your broadband service it would affect all applications.

@Add_15593 I know that said you've tried options to improve this, can you let me know what steps you took? The steps mentioned in our blog All About: Broadband Coverage, have you tried these?

 

Hi Stacey. The speed is fine. It’s just the latency I think that’s causing the issues. I use a cloud flare vpn and I need to sign into this when on calls and then when that drops the calls don’t work. Any tips to improve latency issues ? Thanks. 

@Add_15593 as you've tried the troubleshooting steps and confirmed the issue is specific to a 3rd part app and not your Three service I'm not sure there is anything that we can do but I'd be happy to log this with our technical team for investigation just in case.

 

So that I can do this please pop me a PM with your name, number, full address and date of birth. Please describe exactly whats happening and if possible provide examples the more detail I have the better.
