I was trying to fix NAT 3 issues for gaming and while I was given a fix via an APN change by an agent to get to NAT 2 on the console - this has caused the following: 1. downloads halt after 2GB of data downloaded on console, 2. Laptops intermittently get disconnected from the internet while working from home, 3. our streaming services now buffer to the point that things go down to 480p. None of these issues happened before the APN change. I believe after 2gb or so of data is transmitted through hi-res streaming or videocalls, it triggers the same cut in quality and download as attempting to download things to console.
While NAT 2 is the best option for gaming, this APN fix seems to render the net all but useless for streaming and working from home. I'd like to get another agent to look at this to give it a fresh perspective. Thanks, I appreciate it!
Hi Anthony. We left the service in the end. All the best.
I'd be happy to have a look for you @Nat3onthree pop me a PM with your name, number, full address and date of birth and I'll take a look.
Did this get sorted for you ? Experiencing the same myself .
As soon as a couple of GBS has downloaded everything comes to a pause , takes a while to come back . Or everything disconnects that is connected to the WiFi on the modem
No. Get ready for the worst customer support experience of your life. They are so understaffed I can even tell you which customer support rep you'll get. He'll tell you to do some bogus **bleep** like resetting router, running a speed test tell you to contact **bleep**ing Sony. As if a) they can be reached and b) they won't just tell you to contact Three. Then he'll pass it off to the engineers who will do nothing. And even quote the amount you've downloaded this month as some kind of proof that your downloads aren't broken despite the fact that the stopping and starting is the issue.
Video record the downloads stopping and prepare to ask for a refund or a release from contract is my plan. Hopefully more people find this thread. I literally can't download games on a pricey Three contract that's meant to be good for gaming.
Hey @Anthony_71376 I'd be happy to look into this for you, can I confirm is this using the Open.Internet.Public APN after this was set up on the account?
I want this resolved or I want to cancel the contract without paying. I just bought a 70 euro game and can't download it. I told you the issue isn't just me.
I need this for work too, if my downloads are constantly throttling then wtf.
Hey @Nat3onthree, I can see that we were discussing this previously on PM and if you have further examples and want me to raise a new case with the technical team I'll be happy to have this investigated further.
It seems the user above is now having the same issue. But if I am just going to get the same run around as before of "tech team found nothing". Then I'll wait for this other user to reach that brick wall so we can form a bigger group of people with the issue. If you think there's a fix, open the ticket.
@ three Niall ,yes since the apn change . NAT type is fine it's definitely cured that but it's become such a pain now . This was purchased for streaming and online gaming and it's completely useless for it . I'm putting down here that I'm giving 14 days for this problem to be resolved as I'm not the only customer to face this issue ,and I request to be released from contract with out penalties if said services is not sorted by then .
