I’ve recently completed a mobile WiFi contract (at €29.99/month) with Three
This was 4G and this was more than adequate for my personal home needs.
Since my contract ended I have been searching the market for a better price.
As I essentially now own the Huawei router which was include in my first contract, I have asked for, and received, the unlocking code for this router, so I can now simply get a sim-only, unlimited data deal from any of the ISPs in the market, ranging in price from €12 to €34.99 (all unlimited data, with MORE THAN ONE using the same network as Three. By the way, when you compare the sim-only option as well as the mobile broadband options, Three is more expensive than most.
I have contacted Three Support by chat a couple of times to find out if there are cheaper options from them and each time the service agent pushed (TOO strongly and aggressively in my opinion!) FIRSTLY to upgrade to 5G with a new router (which I expressly said I didn’t want), or SECONDLY to renew my contract on 4G (with no new router)…but for MORE than I am currently paying. When I ask the service agent what there is to stop me just inserting an unlimited sim from another company for half the price which Three wish to charge me now (for clarity: Three wants to charge me €34.99 (with one, two or even THREE months free which would STILL be a lot more expensive than the half price alternative!) for a service which I am now paying €29.99 for…while I am able to get an unlimited data sim, operating on Three’s own network, from another provider, for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE OF THREE’S option).
AND since I have contacted Three checking their options, I have been receiving an average of FOUR CALLS A DAY from Three marketing (initially I did not answer as I don’t answer unknown numbers, but I did call back out of hours to hear an answering message from Three). Now that I know these calls are from Three and knowing that Three have unattractive renewal options for me, I will not be answering these calls….but they always come during my working day and they ARE BECOMING A NUISANCE - COULD YOU PLEASE ASK YOUR SALES/MARKETING TEAM TO STOP CALLING ME!
Hi @Francis_N I completely get your frustration and would love to turn this experience around for you. I'd hate to lose you as a customer but I understand shopping around for the best deal.
If you PM me your name, number, full address and date of birth I'll review your account and contact our sales team and request that they remove you from their contact list.
