Charged for roaming data when data roaming disabled

Hi,

I recently was in the UK and had data roaming switched OFF on my phone. I was charged 2 euro so I deleted the APN on my phone so that I couldn't use any data. I was still charged 2 euro a day until my balance went to zero.

Surely if I have data roaming switched off on my phone and no APN on my phone, I shouldn't be charged for data?

Hi @Nevan_09241 👋 Thanks for reaching out to us here on 3Community. It sounds like your phone automatically connected to a UK network, when you switched the data roaming off did you also switch off the mobile data and the wifi assist? If either of these were left on the phone still may connect. When you deleted the APN did your phone indicates that it was offline?

Hi,

The phone did connect to a UK network for calls and texts. There was no indication that the phone was on a data network(the signal strength indicator didn't indicate 4G or equivalent)

Mobile data was off

Wifi calling was off

Data roaming was off

After the APN was removed, there was no indication of being online.

It seems to be me, it must be some setting on my account that isn't set up correctly.

Is it possible to completely remove data off my account, as I only use my phone for calls and texts.
