I topped up by €20 on the 27th of October. Despite me being pretty much permanently on wifi, with mobile data and location turned off, every day from the 29th of October I've been charged €2 for "data". Multiple tiny amounts between 0-1kb at completely random times.
@Anthropos Hi there, from the information you've given you may be on an older plan that doesn't have a data allowance. When you don't have a data allowance included in your plan each time data is used a data pass is activated that costs €2. Below are some hints & tips to help avoid any further charges.
Make sure that any apps you have downloaded don't 'Allow background data usage', this option can allow apps to still work even if they're not actively being used by you.
With both your mobile data & location services turned off, your WiFi can still cause the charges. Make sure that the WiFi + or assist (its name varies slightly depending on the phone manufacturer) is not turned on as this will use mobile data alongside your WiFi.
I can put a data block on your account & this will also stop the charge but this also means you would have to contact us back if you wanted it turned on again. Also just to note, if you do block it WiFi will still work.
The last option I have is I can change your plan for you if you're interested. This would stop the charges as our newer plans come with All You Can Eat data. Most of our legacy plans have a limited amount of data allowance or none at all. The €2 Daily Pass is triggered by a data connection no matter how small. The daily pass was put in place years ago to prevent further charging. The pass has 200MB for €2, which was a great price back in the day before we introduced our All You Can Eat Plans. Without it, the cost is €1.01 per MB.
If you're interested in changing your plan check out our current available ones here. Let me know if any of them interest you. If you have any further questions let me know.
