Not able to add funds to Apple Account using Prepay Credit?

Hi,

 

I am using Apple Iphone.

I am on three.ie prepay.

 

I used to (recently) be able to add my unused top-up balance as my Apple Account funds.

 

As in - I top up my mobile with €20. I use whatever over the next month and I transfer reminder of that to my Apple ID.

 

I tried adding it today (26/08/2023) and it was unsuccessful...

 

What has changed? Is this no longer going to work?

Thanks for all the details @WhiteHeteroGuy I'm still waiting on an update from our 3Pay team but as soon as I get a response I'll let you know.

Hi @WhiteHeteroGuy nothing yet, when I spoke with our 3Pay team on Friday they were waiting on an update from Apple. I'll let you know once I receive an update.

Since:

- You can add the funds on bill pay but the prepay folks cannot

- I could not add funds from older (confirmed as working in the past with this feature) version of iOS

- Apple rep told me nothing has changed on their side in this regard

I doubt speaking to Apple will change anything.

 

I am starting my research on the networks that still allow to do this. If its not fixed soon I am moving my family to a different network.

It is also happening the same thing with me here, before I was able to add money from my remaining value and now when I am doing this process there is no option to select mobile as payment, and my phone is configured for it.

I can understand your frustration @WhiteHeteroGuy, I'm monitoring the investigation and as soon as there is an update I'll let you know.

I wish I had an update on this, but our 3Pay team is still working with Apple towards a resolution on this.

I have been having this issue for 2 months now. This is not on apples end because it works fine on Bill pay but not PAYG and they have confirmed as much when I was on the phone to them. I have the latest iOS on an iPhone 12 Pro. Three have clearly decided to make this change hoping their prepay customers won’t notice but this is the difference between me staying with 3 or switching to another network. Fix this for your PAYG customers! The API on apples end doesn’t care wether it’s a bill or prepay phone so this is 100% on threes end.

Agreed. Either it’s fixed soon or I am moving.
