I am on a prepaid plan and recently switched from a physical SIM to an eSIM as it is much easier than carrying two phones with me as I’m out of the country a lot.
In doing this, I lost my ability to hotspot my data along with my Wi-Fi calling how can I get it back
Hey @Add_48005 , Welcome to the 3Community 🙂
As you have set up a new eSIM on your device I would recommend turning off the Wifi Calling on your device, restart your phone and then turn back on Wifi calling on the device to restart setting up WiFi Calling on the new eSIM.

Thank you, followed the procedure you described and I have WiFi calling now.
Thank you for the suggestion solution.
Hi, after switching to eSIM WiFi calling feature stopped working for me. Following the procedure you described didn't solve the issue. Do you have any other suggestions?
Hi @Johnny-Rush, as you have tried rebooting the feature, I'll need a little more info before I make a suggestion. Please let me know what make and model phone you're using and what happens when you switch on the Wi-Fi calling. Does it give an error, or is it showing activated?
My phone is Samsung A55 5G. When I turn on the WiFi Calling in the phone settings nothing has happened. The WiFi calling icon does not appear as it was before with the physical SIM card.
I have a physical SIM card from another carrier inserted into the phone and WiFi calling works for this physical SIM. I would love to hear your suggestions. Let me know if you need anything from my side.
Hey @Johnny-Rush, When you have the Wi-fi calling turned on in settings can you try completing the following
Once you are seeing Wi-fi calling preferred here your phone will automatically attempt to use Wi-fi Calling as a priority.
Hi @Three_Niall, I tied to toggle WiFi/mobile data preffered multiple times. It doesn't solve the issue. WiFi calling feature worked on my physical SIM before I switched to eSIM. The other cell carrier works on my phone. What should I or Three do to make it work?
Thanks @Johnny-Rush, when you are attempting to toggle on the Wifi Preferred option is this not appearing in blue underneath like advised above? I'd be happy to check the account to make sure everything is set up on the network side, Pop through to us here on PM along with your full name, mobile number, address and date of birth and I can check this here for you.
Hi @Three_Niall, I have sent you the PM. I would appreciate if you could check if everything is OK on the Three side
