"Powered by https://3.ie/deals" added to Webtexts. Em. What?

Morning,

Sorry to bother you but I've just been informed that the tagline "( Powered by https://3.ie/deals )" is being added to all texts send by Webtext. Could you get the IT team to turn this new "feature" off please? It looks amateurish, particularly in light of the fact that they haven't fixed the newline issue raised by @PGargan or the missing characters issue yet. Commas, double quotes and square brackets are still being stripped from texts and newlines are still being converted to "\n".

Thanks.

-bodonova.

Oh good grief. Thanks for calling this out @bodonova

Yes, please turn this off! We're already paying customers. SMSs cost the telco fractions of a cent to send. You don't need to start advertising there.

What happens if you compose a text that's 160 chars long, i.e. the max that fits in 1 SMS? Does this bumpf on the end now make it 2 SMSs, deducing from your total? What happens if you're sending a text expressing sympathy for a bereavement? This really isn't appropriate.

Thanks @bodonova for sharing this with me. I'm talking to the Webtext team and as soon as I have an update on this I'll let you know.

Hi @bodonova  I just wanted to let you know there's been an update. The "Powered by" will appear at the bottom of the text box, but you can easily remove it all you need to do is delete text.
