Have you ever wondered about the process behind Three+ competitions? We’ve gotten a few questions about it over the years, and we’ve made some changes, so we thought it was about time that we put it in writing. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive 👇
Some customers have wondered if they will be contacted a second time to arrange delivery of the prize. Put simply, no you won't be! We won’t contact you again, we’ve got your details and will send you your prize. If you have won a digital voucher, the standard delivery is by email so keep an eye on your mailbox, including your subfolders. For a physical voucher, it is sent by post, and for a phone, it is sent by courier. Bear in mind that sometimes things don’t go to plan and there are delays but we aim to have your prize out to you within 3-4 weeks. Feel free to touch base with us if you haven’t received your prize within that timeframe.
If you have won tickets to the 3Arena or 3Olympia, you won't receive physical tickets. Instead, you will need to wait until you receive an email from ThreeTickets@three.ie and this will include the steps on how to claim your tickets at the venue. You won't receive the email until a week before the event takes place so no need to panic as you wait for the email to arrive. If your tickets have not arrived via email, please contact a 3Community Moderator via private message at least 72 hours before the event, and we will get you sorted. 😀
When the winners are randomly selected, there are about 20 Three+ IDs per prize. We then match the IDs up with your contact number and our Limerick-based Telesales team will call you. So here is the thing; if you don’t answer, our team moves onto the next number and so on, until we have a winner. This is common practice right across a lot of businesses. As we've said in our blog, “Why is Three calling me”, make sure you put our Telesales number 061203660 in your phone contacts.
We used to use 3Party, but now the Three+ team pick the winners. We do not know who you are, or other personal details. The only thing we use in the selection process is your Three+ profile ID. For the sake of picking winners, you are just a number but to us, you are a valued, loyal customer.
I’m sure there is some intelligent programme/algorithm that takes all the Three+ profile IDs that entered each competition and selects the winners at random. But that's way over my head, so I’d like to think that the “Profile IDs” are popped into a hat and selected that way! Totally at random. Just so you know, there are loads of online tools for random selections, if you need it for a party or Secret Santa at work!
That one is easy! Just join the Three+ Group hub and start a topic, or maybe your question has been asked by another member and answered by one of the Mods or Three_Expert. If that’s the case, give it a like 👍
It’s the luck of the draw. Three+ competitions open each calendar month. For the month of March 2022, there are 9 fantastic competitions, that you can enter, just the once. I have bought a lotto ticket most weeks for the last 15-20 years, and I’ve never won. Again, the luck of the draw 🙂 Keep trying, though!
We contact the winners a few days after the month has ended. So, January’s winners are contacted in early February, February’s winners are contacted in early March, and so on. Once all the winners are contacted, the list is published here on 3Community. When everything goes as planned, the winner's list is published around the 20th of the month.
We hope this blog has answered your questions about the process behind Three+ competitions, and if you do have more in mind, why not start a topic in the Three+ Group Hub, here ❤️
Hi Shane my wifes name is Geraldine Fitzgibbon and the last 3 digits are 303, she won in December but never contacted, she got fobbed off already and told it wasn't her. A surname like that is not common at all, never mind someone else having the same first name.
As for people constantly winning, I've looked through a lot of the competition results and seen quite a few of the same names popping up, Paul Lalor, his wife or partners name pops us too, Josh swords pops up a few times, these are just a couple of examples, there arevto many to list them all, bit of a joke the way this is done in my opinion.
@SpeedyKev Thanks for the details regarding your wife I've checked the winner & the last 3 digits of the number don't match. I can assure you if your wife's name was picked as mentioned above she would have been called to let her know. Unfortunately, it wasn't your wife that was picked.
It's unlikely but not impossible for some people to be very lucky & have their names drawn in different competitions. If for example the same name is picked out for 2 different competitions in January. Then they'd only win the first prize & another name would be picked out for the second. If someone's name was picked out in January & February that's just luck everyone that enters gets the same chance every month to win. All names are totally picked at random each month.
No me win ye
Thanks for that but just saying you checked a number doesn't prove anything, it all seems like a scam to me, like I said in my original post, there is no transparency to any of this, I still think staff members are taking prizes, maybe just using customers names. I feel like it's all a waste of time, thanks anyway
This morning, I got a call from Three. Upon answering, it seemed as though the call was being transferred to another line (the dial tone changed as if I was the one calling Three), before the call abruptly ended. The number was the one listed on Post 1 of this thread. I'm assuming my number was potentially on a winners list. Could someone check this for me please? Would like to know either way. I'd be annoyed if I missed out seeing as I answered the call and all. 😞 Thanks!

@Doc Hi Doc, I've checked with our telesales team & they have advised they weren't making calls regarding competition winners yesterday. It's more likely they were calling to speak with you regarding new offers that might interest you. If you'd like to know more you can call them on freephone 1913.
@Add_62675 Hi Krystian, I've edited your post to remove your mobile number for your own security. It's best to not post any private information regarding your account publically. I would suggest contacting our care team on freephone 1913 to query why our telesales team contacted you.
1 days you win next day no win very bad good customer and longer is 3 mobile respects I’m no happy is company is doing people idiots krystian malec 🤬🤬
@Add_62675 Hi Krystian, I can see that you were also speaking with our colleagues on Facebook. Our winners for March haven't been selected yet so no winners have been contacted. Keep an eye on our 3Plus: Competition Winners 2023 for the list of winners.
