APN roaming settings

My stepdad has a Sony Xperia XZ1 G8341 and is on Three

He has never been able to connect to a network (recieve calls, SMS or use mobile data) when abroad - in the UK or EU

I'm wondering if this is likely due to his APN settings? What are the optimal APN settings for going abroad - both UK and EU? Would they be different EU and non-EU or does this depend on individual country?

48 have a website http://48months.tweakker.com/choose where you input your phone model and it gives the best APN settings. Does Three have an equivalent I could use?

Hey @0odowd0gmailcom_96488 , Welcome to the 3Community 🙂

While the APN settings can be helpful while roaming I would recommend manually selecting the network while he is abroad and he can find the steps on how to do this on a similar Nokia device here.

Once he has this completed if he goes into the APN Settings. rather than entering new settings, I would recommend I would recommend selecting the Menu button which is normally indicated by 3 dots on the top right of the screen, and then reset the APN settings if he is still not connected to the network.
