Hey Tonedcos,

I had a look at your account for you. When you top up by €20 in one go, you get free calls the Three numbers, 30 cent per minute calls to Irish Landlines and Irish other network mobiles. Tests to Three are free and Texts to Irish other network mobiles are 13 cent.

I can confirm that the price increase does not affect these rates for you, as long as you continue to top up by €20 in one go each month to activate your plan promotion, your current charges remain.

The price increase will only affect the charges you currently pay when you don't top up by €20

Thanks Michele for clearing that up.However penalising poor folk who can't afford 20 euro a month seems mean.

And the broadband service has become a laugh here in Wexford to add insult to injury. How can we get out of this contract ? Wife tried last September and was sales-talked into renewing which I consider to be unfair practice. Tried to PM on this and got some error message, Exception ID: 1750EC5C. Its a sad state of affairs when getting on to this site takes ages. Copying messages just in case the connection fails has become a must since the arrival of 3

I will also not agree with this, especially seen the mobile broadband speed decrease of 97% on average.

I can only advise everybody to change provider as Ireland is already one of the most expensive countries for mobile plans and three has made an big mistake.

@ gpfransen1 , 97% may not be an exaggeration, it was bad last year when I told wife to cancel now it's pure rubbish. Wife has an Eircom dongle while I am stuck with the o2 now 3 one and hers is flying, I have to use it when frustration sets in and I can't sit around waiting for pages to load. Right now Youtube seems to be throttled??

Sadly it isn't, before the switch I had reasonable average of 8Mbps, since the change my 4G device has an maximum speed of 300Kbps! and when I say max, I mean that on my commute to work that this is for 10 of the 60 minutes, the remaining 50 minutes it is between 3 and 15Kbps!!!

(I tryed to download an 90mb mp3 this morning, as streaming didn't work and have been literally been staring at the download speed for an hour)

I also tested this with an mobile network monitoring.mapping app and this confirmed that there is good to perfect coverage most of the time but their nodes are just misconfigured or extremly throttled....

[EDIT; I am an android developer and use every week different roms, so I am sure this is not app/OS related]

Dont listen to **bleep**e the admistrators will say to you. They are screwing us all as 02 customers because they have made a loss in Ireland of 1 billion euro. Just leave these cowboys when we have some other phone companies in this country. I here carephone werehouse and upc are coming on to the market!

Hi Michelle,

Can you explan why the mobile internet coverage has been so poor since the change over? I'm constantly getting web pages saying i'm offline but ihave mobile internet coverage?

Even on certain apps i am unable to post or upload images but never had this issue with O2, and i have uninstalled the apps and reinstalled and still the same problem.
