Hello, the guide is unclear as the watch app in iphone is saying:
"
MOBILE PLAN
Set Up Mobile Service
The 3 Ireland account on this iPhone cannot be used to add a mobile plan to “Ela i Julek’s Apple Watch”.
For more information about Apple Watch mobile plans visit"
I am ob bill not top up so it should be possible right?
Do i need same apple account on iphone and watch to do the setup? https://www.three.ie/support/smart-watches.html
Hey @Blazej_09601 thanks for posting here, once you have purchased the addon through My3 and that your phone is up to date, is compatible and have been synced then this should work for you. You can view what you need to do in our help and support guide below.
Ok, so I have next step - i need to pair 2 watches with 1 iphone - if ill but extra esim with second three number and addon to it - will it work:
- i understand that i cant sync+cellular 2 watches with one three number in 1 iphone
- can i sync+cellular 2 watches if ill have 2 three numbers on 1 iphone? 🙂
- should i create second three account for second number?
@Blazej_09601 it's an interesting scenario and I'll try to keep this as simple as possible.
You can pair two Apple Watches to an iPhone however only one Apple Watch can be active at any particular time. You can go in and deactivate / activate each smartwatch on the phone as you want to use them but you can't use the two watches simultaneously.
If you have two seperate numbers on eligible plans then you could purchase a smartwatch add on for each however if they were in the same phone I wouldn't be able to confirm how this works with Apple and you'd also be only able to use one smartwatch at a time regardless.
Yes, i got you. Our use case is that we want to use cellular data to track our kids in the neighborhood - therefore we have 2 watches and iPhone that we have home for tracking and configuration of the watches. If I can confirm creating second three number/account would work Ill go with it 🙂
@Blazej_09601 I understand what you are attempting to do but I don't believe setting up another account is going to work in this instance.
If you had two Bill Pay plans then you could purchase an Smartwatch Add on for both plans and you could use both of these SIM cards in your phone provided they supported Dual SIM. The issue that you may run into is that you can only have one watch connected to one phone at any time so while Watch A is connected to the phone and using the cellular then Watch B would remain offline until you were able to connect it to the phone again.
Apple may be able to advise you on this further however I wouldn't personally recommend doing it as I can't guarantee it would be as seamless as expected as the Smartwatch sharer is set up to be one Smartwatch per phone.
I have connected 2 watches and 1 is active and the other is not and still is able to call and receive connections - so applewise I think its ok - the question is how to setup three accounts and if just buing second number will do 🙂
@Blazej_09601 you can set up a new bill pay number on Three.ie or in a Three Store however if this is for the sole purpose of the scenario here then I can't guarantee that this will work for you.
Is there a cooling period? I can maybe test is and if i have 14 days to resign i can try 🙂
