Sim stopped working

Last Saturday my 3 SIM card suddenly stopped working. Nothing changed - I used it, put it in my pocket and ten minutes later it told me I had no SIM card in my phone. I tried turning the phone on and off again to no effect. I googled it and I saw that sometimes factory resetting your phone can fix this issue, so I did that, but still my phone will not recognise the SIM card. I put the SIM into another phone and it instantly connected to Three. I have no access to my banking apps, and because my phone is SIM locked I cannot just use a different network. I tried to SIM unlock my phone, but 3 says my phone number - xxx xxxxxxx- is not recognised on the network, despite my using it less than a week ago? I am currently abroad so I cannot get a replacement SIM in person at a 3 store. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey @Tomas_56875 , thanks for posting here, firstly I've removed your number from the post for security purposes so it isn't publically visible.

I understand with the phone being locked you wouldn't be able to get service with another SIM however can you try and put a different SIM in the phone. Your phone should either appear as no service due to the SIM being locked or an error with SIM card slot not reading the SIM.

While you are abroad you would be able to activate an eSIM once your device supports it. For more information on eSIMs visit the link here
