You've reached 90% of your defined credit limit 35

Hi all,

I activated by 3 Unlimited Broadband Sim Only plan on March 22nd 2023.

I have received a message on the same day that was saying something like

Your 21000 MB NATIONAL DATA has been successfully applied to your account

This is like 21GB, shouldn't it be 750GB the max usage?

Today, March 29th I have received 2 text messages in a couple of minutes:
"From Three: You've reached 90 % of your defined credit limit 35. Call customer care for more information or to make a payment."

And:

"From Three: Your account has reached your credit limit of 35, so we've temporarily stopped services on your account until your next billing date. Please call customer care for more information or to make a payment."

The shop told me about the first bill being a bit higher than 29 euro as it includes a couple of extra days.

From My3 I can see that the next bill will be: €35.79 which will be debited on 17th Apr, 2023

3 Unlimited Broadband SIM Only from 22/03/23 to 27/03/23 -> 4,72 euro

3 Unlimited Broadband SIM Only from 28/03/23 to 27/04/23 -> 24,38 euro

Total 29,10 euro + 23% VAT = €35.79

Which seems ok.

Usage from March 22nd to 27th, 90GB.

I am a bit confused, what do the 2 messages I got today mean?

Thanks in advance

@marcomarco Hi there & welcome to the 3Community.

Let's break down the 21000 MB first when you first set up the account from the timeframe from 22/03/23 to 27/03/23, an allowance of data would need to be applied to your account. You are correct that you have unlimited data but our system does a calculation to say that you need an allowance for 5 days here's 21GB. That was a once-off text you don't need to worry about any further. If you log into your My3 account you'll see your broadband data allowance has an infinity symbol so you have unlimited data. Also just to confirm the 750 GB max usage is no more so you can use as much as you like 😊

In regards to the credit limit text: The credit limit is a spend notice to say that once you hit a certain amount we send you a text to notify you. In your case, the credit limit is set to €35 but when your bill was generated it was 75c over the limit so the text was sent. Next month your bill will only be €29.99 so you'll be under the credit limit.

If you have any further questions let me know.

Thanks for the update.

just to make sure I understood correctly, the credit limit text in this case was just telling me that I was going to spend more than 35€ (which is 5 days + 1 month) for the bill, but it is not directly related to the internet data allowance exceeding a certain amount of GB. Is it correct?

@marcomarco That's correct the credit limit is related to your bill, not your data allowance usage.
