Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI. I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these
Thanks for all expressing your interest in being testers for eSIM. After speaking with the team, they have confirmed they already have a full list of testers so don't require anymore but we'll keep your names on file if anything changes.
@Add_10861 eSIM is being prioritized as we're aware that it's becoming increasingly popular & we hope to have more information in the coming months to share with everyone.
@Anonymous The full list of devices that will be able to avail of eSIM hasn't been decided yet so you'll need to wait until launch to see the full list.
Just don’t get too excited folks…. not all companies that have eSIMs have the Apple Watch cellular capability.
I have an Apple Watch ultra and I’d love to be able to use its cellular functions, but I’ll wait and see what is announced before I get overly excited.
@DalkThree UK released eSIM for Apple Watch on 17th June 2022, long before it released eSIM for phones only on new price plans on 30th January 2023. Existing Three UK customers are still waiting for eSIM.
This sets a precedent for what might happen with Three Ireland, except that there are plausible rumours that the new iPhone 15 in September 2023 might have no physical SIM slot in Europe (like the iPhone 14 in the US), which would force all official iPhone supported carriers to implement eSIM.
