ESIM Rollout

Hi

Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI.  I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these

Yes it’s rumoured that the iPhone 15 will be dual eSim in Europe this year, just like the USA iPhone 14 release last year.

If true this will definitely force the remaining telcos to finally introduce eSims.

If this is on the cards then the telcos will likely have advance notification from Apple.
Eir already have this in a limited release under the guise of GoMoWorld.

Is there any update on Esims/ Apple Watch cellular in Ireland? 3 in the UK support it! Why is there such a huge delay in rolling this out in Ireland! I have being a customer of 3 for many years but I’ll will be switching to the first network that supports Apple Watch cellular in Ireland so get on with it 3 Ireland!!

I just bought an iPhone 14 in apple while on holidays in the US! Unfortunately I will be forced to leave three mobile, as they can no longer provide for me.

It's a shame that Three is still silent and doesn't release any official information, let alone a concrete start of the roll out of the eSIM!

Does Three not have any interest in customer service or is this the way to drive this provider to the wall?

A person responsible should finally comment specifically on the plans for Three & eSIM.

This is just a delaying tactic!

This is honestly appalling how three is being so silent about this whole process. They said they were in a testing phase a long time ago and we haven’t gotten an update since then. Can we not even get a ETA, doesn’t have to be an exact date but at least a timeframe not just “sometime this year”. Esim is a feature a lot of people want and an announcement that it’s coming would retain customers and drive new ones.

@Krzysztof_32795  You're right eSim is something a lot of people want and in the future, it will be the norm for most people. This is why we are focused on getting it right. I know it's frustrating waiting for it to launch, and I wish I could give you specifics but at the moment we are still working on it.

Any news yet on the Esim? My husband had to switch his number from three to Vodafone because of this delay. This is not good. You guys seriously need to do something about it before you lose a lot of customers

@Three_Stacey

Thanks for the update.

We only have a few months till the new iPhone. We really need to have eSIM rolled out by then so people can shop around.

Please pass our feedback on to whoever is over this and impress on them how important it is to get this rolled out asap.

@Three_Stacey  and all of those who try to defend Three here with apologies:

This is what I mean!!!

Again, eSim is not a new invention, you just have to create the conditions and copy something that has already been successfully rolled out by many providers and is running reliably.

What is Three waiting for?

They wrap themselves in silence and only excuses come!

It's like I feared before: 2023 is long and Three is pushing it to the limit for inexplicable reasons!

The fact that more and more customers are dropping out is all too understandable and should it finally scare the management of Three or are they hoping that the customers will come back in droves after a successful delivery?

If a company abandons its customers who have been waiting patiently for eSIM's for so long, very few will come back!

It's really more than frustrating how Three treats its customers and leaves them in the dark without considering it necessary to inform them concretely and reliably!

What's up with those up there???

Are the gentlemen of the management already so aloof that they don't consider it necessary to reliably inform those who were/are always most important to you and also bring in the money, namely your customers?

I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of the year 'all of a sudden' the news that Three had to file for bankruptcy because their customers were running away because they weren't able to deliver eSIM's on time!

That would certainly be a pity and not desirable, but in today's world you can't treat your customers like that!
