ESIM Rollout

Hi

Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI.  I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these

Full list there. Will have a proper look before I buy, but I’m not keeping much hope for eSIM on three, so probably won’t be a concern of mine this year.

It will come alright, id say 3 are concentrating on taking out the Huawei equipment out of their network at the moment.
Phones will be compatible with 5g until 5G standalone comes along 🙂

It will come alright, just can’t see it being any time soon unfortunately.

First world problems eh! 😂

Thank you for your response ... but unfortunately only superficial and asking for understanding but nothing concrete.

No customer can do anything with it and again there are only excuses.

No statements from higher responsible authorities or even a official public statement!

I don't know what position you are in, but it is very unsatisfactory what is being said here as statements for Three on the subject of eSIM's.

So sad and unsatisfying!

After digging around on the three site a little i’ve found references to three’s corporate responsibilities where they mention to introduce esim by the end of 2023. I know this isn’t a concrete release date but it’s a little reassuring that we might see it by the end of the year.

Thanks for your research, but there is only exactly what has already been said here.

Citation: Introduce eSIM offering by the end of 2023

There are many noble goals, but despite everything they are not very ambitious, especially in relation to the eSIM!

While these devices dont have eSIMs its pointing to eSIMs coming sooner rather than later

Fingers crossed, but it looks like a step in the right direction.

Vodafone are really pushing their OneNumber at the moment.  And they make a point of how they’re the only network in Ireland doing.

Three have really shown themselves up by lack of progress in eSIM. It’s a shame, their customer service is the best of all the networks, but their reluctant and protracted approach to new technology is really frustrating and I can see them losing a serious amount of customers over this.
