ESIM Rollout

Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI.  I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these

I was told early this year that THREE WILL LUNCH their Esim middle this year and now august is ending in a couple of days and still no words on the Esim so which means is best for us to move our number to Vodafone for the iPhone 15 since three aren’t ready to lunch their Esim. 😔😔😔😳😳😳🥹🥹🥹

Some suggested key dates:-

Aug 29-Sep 5 Apple to announce event

Sep 12 - Apple Event, iPhone 15 unveiling

Sep 15 - Preorder 

Sep 22 - Store availability / order delivery 

So it looks like Three will possibility launch eSims around this timeline.

@Dalk @CiaranM If they don't enable it for prepay by beginning of Oct, I'll have no choice but to switch to Vodafone for my next visit home. I currently have a US iPhone 14 pro max, so no physical sim slots. It's a shame really, as have been with 3 for years and O2 before the merger.

Hi all, quick update on eSIM, as I know you have been waiting patiently for a long time.

I’m sure you can understand there is a lot to prepare behind the scenes to ensure that a launch like eSIM goes smoothly. As soon as I can confirm a launch date you all will be the first I tell.
