Hi

Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI.  I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these

So I swapped my three SIM into a Samsung and put an Eir SIM into my iPhone.

 

I was unable to send or receive SMS on my three SIM in the Samsung.

 

I was able to send and receive SMS on the Eir SIM in my iPhone.

 

Others on the Three network, who have steered clear of eSIM, have no issues sending or receiving

 

This is 100% related to eSIM and I’m seriously not happy.

 

I need the ability to send SMS for work and need this sorted asap please.

@Dalk @Add_10861, Firstly I'm delighted to hear that the network refresh that our teams completed has helped restore the SMS functionality back for you both. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you as to why this has happened yet and while the network refresh did work as a solution the team are continuing to work to see why this happened and working on a fix for this going forward.

@Three_Niall Hi. It seems I'm also plagued by the issue of not being able to send or receive standard SMS messages. I have an iPhone 13 Pro and I have replaced my physical SIM with eSIM yesterday in Three store. All other services seem to be working fine as far as I can tell. Is there anything I need to check or change in my settings to enable the SMS messaging?
