ESIM Rollout

Hi

Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI.  I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these

I think it’s Irish mobile operators in general, not just Three.

We’ll never have visual voicemail.

We’ll never have the new live voicemail.

Operators have been painfully slow to embrace tethering, WiFi calling and VoLte to name a few.

eSIM is just the latest.  We’re a small country with a relatively small customer base and all the operators are reticent to invest in “extras”.

It’s a great shame for us consumers, but I wouldn’t expect any less at this stage.

@Dalk your right, Irish operators are slow to enable the latest features on their networks like WiFi Calling and VoLte
But I can understand not having visual voicemail and Live Voicemail as that only applies to iPhones and I bet Apple charge a nice bit of installation of those services on an operators networks.

Hopefully it will change and one of them will start to enable new features and the rest will follow

@Browni I'll pass along your feedback and as soon as I've got a concrete date for the launch or any specific info I'll let you know.

Just wondering if there’s any update on when Three Ireland might rollout ESim?

Okay, thank you for your offer and that would be very kind but unfortunately it doesn't change the status: carry on as usual!
I still have the feeling that Three manager don't care about they customers or don't even have any empathy for them!

Very sorry about that.

I doubt that Apple will pay for anything in the networks, but I am surprised that Apple, as one of the largest employers in IRL, does not exert more influence on the implementation of such line features in the mobile network.

All in all, I see a failure or ignorance on the part of management here!
They are the ones who can/have to make the decisions and therefore drive things like this forward.
That's what they get paid for.

However, I have the impression that they haven't done their homework here!

As I have said in previous posts:

The eSIM technology is not new and therefore does not need to be reinvented.
Transferring it to your own network shouldn't be a big problem, especially since this technology has been known for a long time and is coming.

You also have to ask yourself why, as already shown here, the eSIM introduction works in other countries where Three is already present and just not in IRL!

So the question arises:
What makes it so difficult to integrate eSIM on Three network in IRL or is there little to no interest in doing it at all because o f the cost!?

@Curt_03186 looks like your business account manager was spoofing.

Probably but we still have a few hours left before the official launch.
