Account topup or account balance to keep plan?

Hello,

I am new to 3 and my current prepay plan will run out in 2 days, To rollover the plan and keep it active, the information on the 3 web page says I need to top up with €20.  Due to some issues I had when setting up the account a month ago I still have €23 credit on my account. My only option for automated top ups is to use my credit / debit card which I do not want to do.  My question is do I need to Top up with € 20 for my plan to roll over or just have more than €20 on my account for it to roll over?

@Fintan_13722 Hi Fintan, to activate your plan allowance every 28 days you need to top-up by €20. You can't use your credit balance to activate it. If you don't wish to use your card to top-up each month you can also top-up via a voucher purchased from your local Three store or retail outlet.

So what you are saying it that I have gifted 3 the existing credit and unless I top up in one go with €20 my bundle will not renew.  Just now I checked my account and it said my bundle will run out tomorrow (in one day) .  It is not clear if my bundle will end @00:01 tonight (tomorrow) or @23:59 tomorrow night or at some time during the day.  So the only way for me to assure that my bundle does not drop in the middle of a Zoom call or something is to either top up early or setup automatically renewal with a credit / debit card & my existing € 23 can never be used for a bundle even though the credit is on my account because I topped up my account with the €23?

the bundle / plans page says: 

You should know that new plan benefits will be available after top-up. Existing plan benefits will be gone.

so by manually topping up just now means that I potentially lost 1/28 of the value of the plan that was running out some time tomorrow, potentially @23:39 tomorrow.

@Fintan_13722 For your prepay allowances let's say that you last topped up on the 26th of July, your plan was then activated for 28 days, and your plan allowances would then expire on the 23rd of August at 23:59pm. Any existing credit that is on your account cannot be used to activate your plan. You must Top Up by €20 or more in one go to trigger the plan allowances.
